Safe city program outlines the strategy for enhancing security in the city maintaining maximum data for surveillance and risk management. The project has deployed surveillance cameras and radio frequency readers for capturing the movements of people and vehicles at critical locations around the city; a network to augment the existing infrastructure available so that all this captured information can be brought to a central facility; and a command center which will act as the central facility where all the information can be monitored, recorded, and analyzed so that security events can be responded to effectively, and security risks can be addressed in a proactive manner.
