STEP 5 & 6: Make Payments & Submit Application
For applications related to Smart ID modification, Family Registration Certificate and Cancellation Certificate, you must first submit the application. After the approval by NADRA, you will be notified through an email to pay the fee, which is the last step. For all other applications, you must pay the fee before submitting the application.

You can re-register your account with accurate email/mobile number. You have to provide new email ID.
If you suspect that your password has been stolen or exposed to others, please change your password immediately.
No, only your blood relatives (Father, Mother, Sister, Brother, Children above 18) or Spouse who are identity card (NIC, NICOP, POC) holders can create PakID account and process applications for themselves or other linked blood relatives.
Yes, during the account creation, after providing the citizen number details, the next step is biometric verification. Biometric verification is mandatory for activation of user account; unverified users cannot process any application.
Yes, if due to any reason, your PakID account could not be created/verified, you can apply through PakID account belonging to one of your spouse or blood relatives i.e. father, mother, sister, brother, spouse or children for processing of your identity document. Please make sure that the blood relative or spouse whose PakID account you are using, has their NADRA identity card record already linked with your record.
Account verification is mandatory before processing of any application.
After providing the email address, you will receive a 4-digit verification PIN/OTP. If the email is not received in your inbox, try looking it in the spam/junk folder, sometimes the email lands in the spam/junk folder.
Applications can only be processed for blood relatives i.e. father, mother, sister, brother, spouse and children through PakID.
In-case of fingerprint matching failure, you can verify your user account through facial matching.
You will be given multiple attempts for biometric verification through fingerprints for your PakID account verification. If it doesn’t match, then you will be given the option to verify through facial. If this option doesn’t work too, then you have to apply through a PakID account belonging to one of your blood relatives i.e. father, mother, sister, brother or children (above 18 years) for processing of your identity document. Please make sure that the blood relative whose PakID account you are using has their NADRA identity card record already linked with you (Family tree). OR You can inform us (through NCCMS ) for refreshing the count of fingerprints verification attempts.
The applicant has to turn on the location services on his/her mobile before opening the PakID mobile app or allow the location permission option when the PakID mobile app asks while logging in. Ensure your device has a stable Internet connection.
Applicant is allowed to create only one PakID account through his/her identity card number. The system does not allow the user to create 2nd account through the same identity card number. Therefore, applicant has to login the already created account using his/her ID card number, in case applicant has forgot the password, click on the Forgot password button on the Mobile app login page and update/change the password and login.
PakID mobile app users can use an email for just one account. Therefore, in case you are creating a new account make, please make sure that the email address is not associated with any other PakID account.
Follow the below steps to delete your PakID account:
- Log in to your account through PakID Mobile app.
- Press the setting icons on the right top.
- Select Profile Settings.
- Select the option “Delete Account”.
- Check the box to accept terms and click on Yes.
- Your account will be permanently deleted.
For Technical issues or complaints, you can contact us through NADRA Centralized Complaint Management System (NCCMS) . Please provide complete information regarding the technical issue or complaint like Tracking ID, Citizen Number, relevant screenshots/documents and you will be provided a solution.
Follow these steps for the successful capturing of the fingerprints.
- Fingerprints tips must be aligned with the boxes.
- Use a plain background or a white paper while fingerprints capturing.
- Capture the fingerprints in well-lit environment.
- Keep the hand/fingers stationary by resting it on fixed or solid surface.
- There must be appropriate gap between the fingers.
- While capturing the fingerprints, the hand should not be too far or too close to the camera.
- Don’t tilt or curl the fingers.
Yes, you can upload the photo of your choice by clicking the browse button and select the photograph on your mobile. The photograph must not be older than 6 months. Or alternatively, you can capture the photograph on the mobile app by clicking on the capture button. Once the photograph is clicked, it would be saved automatically and then you can proceed further by clicking the continue button.
NOTE:
- Capture the photo against a plain or white background.
- Avoid the use of hats, artificial lenses, glasses, or anything that obscures the face.
- Ensure there are no shadows on the face, no hair across your eyes, and no obstructions of the face view.
- Applicant should have a straight posture and must be looking straight at the camera.
- Avoid wearing uniform or colors matching the background.
- Photograph must not be older than 6 months.
- Black and white photograph is not acceptable. Make sure that photograph is taken with appropriate brightness and contrast.
- Female applicant can capture/upload the photograph in hijab/abaya after ensuring the clear visibility of forehead, complete face including chin.
- Male applicant is allowed to capture/upload the photograph in headgear (cap, turban) after ensuring the clear visibility of complete face.
- Photograph must be original without filters or layers and has not been altered in any way.
"DPI" stands for "dots per inch," a measurement of resolution in scanning. 600 DPI means 600 dots or pixels scanned per inch. Following are the steps for scanning the form at 600 dpi.
- Place the fingerprints form on the scanner.
- Press the scan button on the scanner.

To scan the form, select the following parameters:
- Select Grayscale from Color format drop down box.
- Select JPG (JPG File) from File type drop down box.
- Select 600 dpi in Resolution (DPI) box.
- Then click scan button.

Once the scanning is completed, following window will appear to save the scanned file.
- Click Import button to save your scanned document at default printer location.

Once the file is saved, the system automatically opens and displays the scanned file location.
- Now the file is ready to be uploaded to PakID web application.
You can launch a complaint through NADRA Centralized complaint management system (NCCMS) Please make sure you include the following information with your complaint:
- Tracking Id
- Bank Name
- Credit/Debit card provider
- Country (applied from)
- Screenshots in case of website or mobile app issue
This error indicates that either;
- Your ID card has been expired for more than a year. OR
- Your record is marked for verification.
In order to resolve the issue, you need to visit NADRA office.
You need to contact us through NCCMS , provide the screenshot of the error you are facing and you will be provided the appropriate solution.
You will receive the Family Registration Certificate (FRC) through an email in PDF format and it usually takes 1-2 days after the approval of your application. Alternatively, you can also download the FRC through the PakID mobile app using your registered account. FRC delivery through courier is not available. If you do not receive it after the due process in your email inbox, please check the Junk/Spam folder of your email. Otherwise please contact NCCMS , provide complete details of your application like Tracking ID, Citizen Number and relevant screenshots, and you will be provided a solution.
It happens when you have not attached all the required documents with your application or the information/documents provided are incorrect. In such case you will be contacted via email or phone call by NADRA case officer and your card will be processed once the pending requirement is fulfilled.
All application types at PakID require less than 10 documents to be attached. However, if NADRA case officer requires any extra documents then you can provide the required documents via email to the NADRA case officer OR by uploading the documents in the inbox of your PakID account (maximum up to 10 documents).
Applicants can face this issue in the following scenarios:
- If his/her identity card number is DUP marked (Applicant has been issued multiple identity cards with different numbers) OR cancelled through DUP cancellation.
- If his/her identity card is marked for verification.
- If he/she is inserting invalid citizen number, issue date or date of birth. Therefore, you need to visit NADRA center for processing of your application.
You need to apply in the modification category of your Smart ID/Smart NICOP and add the concerned sibling’s CNIC/NICOP number in your application and then reapply for the Family Registration Certificate (FRC).

Yes, attestation is the mandatory step in Smart ID application. Please refer to the FAQ “Who can attest/verify my Smart ID verifier form” for further details.
Rejection reasons with guidance will be communicated through email to you by NADRA. Please check your email inbox or junk folder. If you have not received the email, you can reach us through NADRA Centralized Complaint Management System (NCCMS) or call Helpline number 1777 (Mobile users) or +92 51 111 786 100. Provide the relevant details like Tracking ID, Citizen Number, and you will be provided a solution.
You need to email the concerned case officer directly or contact us through NCCMS , provide the relevant details like Tracking ID, Citizen number, mistakes in your ID card and photos/screenshots and you will be provided a solution.
There are two ways to attest or verify the Smart ID verifier form.

Biometric verification (Available in PakID mobile app only)

- By immediate relatives (Paternal/Maternal (Grandfather/Grandmother), Spouse)

- Officers of the Federal/Provincial Government in Basic Pay Scale 16 & above
- Commissioned Officers of the armed forces and civil armed forces
- Officers of local bodies of status corresponding to officers in basic pay scale 16 & above
- Officers of autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies
- Officers of Levies in Basic Pay Scale 16 and above
- Officers of Government Bank and Government Corporations
- Headmen (Lambardar) in respect of persons living in their village
- Any other person or officer who may be authorized in this behalf by the Federal government or the Authority
- Officers of NADRA in Basic Pay/NPS/Contractual scale 16 and above
- Head of the family (of grade 16 and above) can attest the CNICF of his/her family members (except his/her own verifier form)
- Political agent (PA) or assistant political agent (APA)
If you are a CRC (B-form)/CNIC/NICOP/POC holder, you must insert your CRC (B-form)/CNIC/NICOP/POC number while applying for NICOP/POC instead of applying in New/Fresh category. Otherwise, the case will be closed and you will have to reapply by inserting your CRC (B-form)/CNIC/NICOP/POC number and also initiate the refund request for the fee already paid.
No, you can only add the foreign address once in either Present or Permanent address field. The other address should be of Pakistan.
No, it is not time bound; applicant can visit NRC any time for the processing of his/her referred application, without paying fee again.
Please login through PakID mobile app, open your existing application/tracking ID and upload the required documents in upload documents tab. In case you are facing any technical issue; please retry the same process after sometime.
The case is referred to NADRA center, if
- You have provided misleading information
- Your family details are incomplete
- Your record is not permanently cleared in database
- One of your family members record is marked for verification
When the case is referred to NRC by the case officer then applicant need to visit any NADRA center and process his/her application there without paying the additional fee.
Yes, you can process a separate application from the NADRA center in your preferred category. For the application in process through PakID, you need to apply for a refund by logging in to your PakID account and initiating the refund request. For further information about refund, please check the Refund section below.
The required supporting documents depend on your chosen application type (Smart NICOP, Smart ID, Smart POC, FRC, Cancellation of Identity documents). The card delivery timeline starts once you have made the payment for your application. There are three priorities of card delivery as explained below:
- Normal category takes 30 working days after payment date
- Urgent category takes 12 working days after payment date
- Executive category takes 07 working days after payment date
You will receive your identity card at your address, through courier service.

For Inland applicants:
The courier will contact the applicant at provided contact number for delivery, once the confirmation is received from the applicant; courier delivers the identity card at the doorstep of the applicant. In case, the applicant is not reachable, the courier tries to contact the applicant for 3 days, after that the card is delivered to the nearest NADRA office.

For Overseas applicants:
The courier will contact the applicant before the delivery of the card, once the confirmation is received from the applicant, the card is delivered at the door step of the applicant. In case the applicant is not reachable, the courier, after the lapse of a specific period of time, delivers the card to the nearest Pakistan embassy/mission.
After entering all the required information in the respective section, you will be asked to save the information, once saved, the respective section would be minimized and the corresponding tab at the top will be marked with a green checkmark.
After providing the complete information in a respective section, you will need to click the save button in the right bottom of each section.

PakID website & mobile app will not let you submit incomplete application.
You do not need to submit fingerprints or signatures for a child under 15 years of age.
Fresh Registration under 18 years of age: You are eligible for Smart NICOP, if you have:
- Identity documents of your parents
- Foreign detailed Birth certificate or S1 Form issued by Embassy or Citizenship / Naturalization certificate (For Non-Resident) OR Computerized Birth certificate (verified) of UC / Municipal Committee / Cantonment or Citizenship / Naturalization certificate (For Intending to be Non-Resident) Pakistani / Foreign passport or residence permit or travel document or undertaking “A” duly attested by Pakistani embassy / mission.
Fresh Registration 18 years or above: You are eligible for Smart NICOP, if you have:
- Identity document of parents or sibling
- Foreign detailed Birth certificate or manual Birth certificate or S1 form issued by Embassy or Citizenship or Naturalization certificate (For Non-Resident) OR Computerized Birth Certificate (verified) of UC / Municipal Committee / Cantonment or Citizenship or Naturalization certificate (For Intending to be Non-Resident) Pakistani / Foreign passport or residence permit or travel document or undertaking “A” duly attested by Pakistan embassy / mission
Already Registered:
- If you already have a CRC (Child Registration Certificate), Juvenile Card, CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card).
You can apply for a Renewal of your identity card if it has expired.
You can apply for a Reprint of your identity card if it has been lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed.
You can apply in the modification category if you want to amend any of the following information:

No, this facility is not available at NADRA Pak identity. You need to visit the nearest NADRA center to apply for new Smart ID.
You can apply for a POC if:
- You were a Pakistani national and have surrendered the nationality.
- You are a foreign national and your parents or grandparents are OR were Pakistani nationals.
- You are a foreign national and any of your relatives (brother, sister, uncle, aunt) are OR were Pakistani nationals.
- You are a foreign national and married to a Pakistani/Ex-Pakistani citizen.
You can apply for the renewal of your POC if it has expired.
You can apply for the Modification of POC if you want to:
- Update your marital status
- Update/Modify your address
- Modify your name
- Modify your date of birth
- Modify Passport issuance country
- Add blood relatives in your record
Yes, you will be required to provide your Photograph (applicant) as well as photographs of all members of the FRC who are under 18 years of age and are CRC (Child Registration Certificate) or Juvenile card holders.
The validity period for the Pakistan Origin Card (POC) issued on the basis of ex Pakistani, Parents or FPO family members is 7 years. Whereas, the validity period for the POC issued on spouse basis is 5 years.
You can pay the fee online at PakID using Credit/Debit card (Visa & Mastercard only), additionally Smart ID and FRC application fees can also be paid through e-Sahulat franchise, Easy paisa and Jazz cash.
Yes, you can but with the consent of card holder.
No, cash on delivery is not available.
Applicants residing in Pakistan: PakID System will send notifications regarding the processing of the application on the provided mobile number (Application submission and Card printing only) and email address.
Applicants residing Overseas: The system will notify about the progress through registered email. The applicant will be notified at the following stages through email:
- PakID Account Registration
- Fee Submission
- Application Submission
- Application Approval/Rejection/Deferral & Card Printing
- Card Dispatch
Yes, you can track the status of your application by visiting this link. Enter Tracking ID and captcha code and then click on the “Track your Application” button. You will be provided with the status of your application. Or you can also track your application by sending your application Tracking ID via SMS to “8400”, (Only for applications applied from Pakistan).
User can request account deletion from application and after deleting account previous data will not be available. In future registration will be required again if the citizen/foreigner wishes to use this application.
