NADRA Announces Special Arrangements for Hajj Applicants

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has made special arrangements for Hajj applicants and has advised the intending pilgrims to register with NADRA centers for processing purposes.

Chairman NADRA, Ali Arshad Hakeem has urged the Hajj applicants to get registered with National Database for their ID documents well in advance to avoid any hassle and during Hajj season. Special instructions have been issued to all NADRA registration centers for processing of CNIC applications of Hajj applicants including guidance and facilitation arrangements.

The Hajj applicants are required to produce valid CNICs or NICOP and Machine Readable Passport having at least one year’s validity while filing the application forms.

In a meeting held between the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports and NADRA to ensure rapid services to Hajj pilgrims, Chairman NADRA informed that the Authority has made special arrangements to facilitate Hajj applicants for the issuance of National Identity Card (CNICs) or National Identity card for overseas Pakistani (NICOP).

Chairman NADRA said that NADRA and Directorate General of Immigration & Passports have jointly taken measures in order to facilitate the intending Hajj pilgrims for the issuance of documents. Passport offices and NADRA Swift Centers while working beyond office hours, will establish special counters at designated branches by displaying the banners for facilitation of intending Hajjis. NADRA Mobile vans will also be available for the intending pilgrims of far-flung areas.

In case urgent service is required from NADRA for issuance of CNICs, they will be charged Rs.200/- and its delivery will be made within two weeks and for Fast Track Service they will be charged Rs.1,000/- and its delivery will be made within a week. However, applicants will not have to stand in long queues while papers and receiving CNICs.

During the meeting it was highlighted by DG Passport & Immigration that Machine Readable Passport will be issued within 12-14 days on normal fee of Rs.2,100/- while urgent Machine Readable Passport will be issued within 5-7 days on payment of urgent fee of Rs.4,000/-. Hajj applicants can have special treatment for obtaining Machine Readable Passports by showing their deposit receipt.
