Q. Do I need an application form for the CNIC?
A. A form is not required for most applicants because the process is paperless. However, if you are physically handicapped, you need to get a special application form from your local NADRA DRO or NADRA Provincial Headquarters.
Q. Where do I go to get myself registered?
A. You can be registered at any NADRA Swift Registration Center NSRC) throughout Pakistan.
Q. Do I need to bring photographs to the NSRC?
A. No. Your picture will be taken at the NSRC.
Q. Who is eligible for the CNIC?
A. Every citizen of Pakistan aged 18 or above is eligible for the CNIC.
Q. What if I’m younger than 18 years of age?
A. You will need to be registered with your father’s Children Registration Certificate (CRC).
Q. Is urgent processing available for the CNIC?
A. Yes.
Q. What is the fee for urgent processing?
A. The fee for urgent processing is Rs. 180.
Q. What is the normal fee?
A. The normal fee is Rs. 75.
Q. Can I get a CNIC if I hold dual nationality?
A. Yes, provided that you also apply for the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).
Q. Can I get a CNIC if I’m a foreigner of Pakistani origin?
A. No. You need to apply for a Pakistan Origin Card (POC) instead.
Q. What documents are required for the CNIC?
A. The following documents are required for the CNIC: Your birth certificate, your educational certificates and transcripts, and the national identity cards of your parents. You also need to bring either your parents’ Children Registration Certificate (CRC), or their Form B. Alternatively, if any one of your immediate family members already possesses a CNIC, then all you need is their CNIC number.
Q. Where can I pay the fee?
A. The fee is payable at the NSRC.
Q. Where can I collect my CNIC?
A. You can collect your CNIC from either the Central Distribution Point (CDC) or the concerned NSRC.
Q. If I lose my CNIC, how do I get a new one?
A. You need to provide your local NSRC with your CNIC number and pay a fee of Rs. 140. You will be issued a new card.
