Government of Pakistan has launched the Covid-19 Vaccination Pass App to facilitate the people to carry their
digital Covid vaccination certificates online. This App allows users to download their Covid vaccination certificate
issued through https://nims.nadra.gov.pk/nims/certificate and save it on the phone. The digital certificate is official
proof of COVID-19 vaccination should it be needed domestically or internationally. Additionally, the QR Code is also
given in the app for prompt verification of digital certificates.

The federal government will issue Alien Card to illegal immigrants staying in Pakistan.
All people after getting ID cards for aliens would be able to open bank accounts, obtain SIMs,
utility connections and driving licenses. All illegal immigrants would now get a special number
on the pattern of biometric NADRA cards and immigrants would have to inform the organization
in case of shifting from one city to another city.

The Government of Pakistan has initiated issuing Succession Certificate/Letter of Administration in Islamabad,
Sindh and Punjab. Issuance of Succession Certificates/ Letter of Administration in other provinces of country
will start soon. Legal heirs of a deceased person can obtain the Succession Certificate/ Letter of Administration
within 15 days through following steps:

Applicant provides his/her National Identity number along with deceased person’s Death certificate.
Relevant details of Legal heirs, information of the deceased moveable and immovable properties.
All legal heirs will visit NADRA’s Registration Center for Biometric Verification.
NADRA will publish the notice for the public at large in two newspapers in case of Islamabad and Punjab;
three newspapers in case of Sindh seeking any objections against that particular application.
If there is no objection within 14 days of publication, Succession certificate/letter of administration will be

NADRA is launching Pak-ID mobile application to facilitate applicants of Pak-ID portal in capturing biometrics and documents. The application will showcase, for the very first time in Pakistan, the functionality of capturing fingerprints using mobile camera. Users will be able to digitally capture fingerprints, photograph and documents using a smart phone eliminating conventional methods of using specialized equipment or physical paper.

This new technology will revolutionize the National ID Eco System in Pakistan. The infrastructure cost will reduce, efficiency will increase and quality of citizen centric services will significantly enhance. The technology will directly impact financial inclusion, ease of doing business and e-governance initiatives by offering remote identification and e-KYC features. It will open doors to growth opportunities for companies allowing them to rapidly on-board users and provide modern password-less authentication. Small business, startups and fintech organizations will also harvest its digital dividends as rent seekers will be eliminated and the cost of conducting business will reduce. The digital footprint of the technology will stimulate young entrepreneurship and promote digital services. This upgrade of the National ID Eco System will support trust building with tech Giants like Amazon and Paypal to conduct business in Pakistan and offer services.
